The miracle returns.
The vines look like so much dead wood. For months now they’ve been brown and dry, with shreds of bark twisting off the trunk and cordons, and no signs of life anywhere.
Yet if you look closely in early March you can see the tiny soft buds building, and suddenly in mid to late month they burst open into soft green leaves.
This is the sixth year I’ve seen this miracle on our vines, and I still get excited.
